| This is the only known complete 03-04 Bowman Gold Refractor set. Started in 2004, it took nearly a decade to finish. Card #1-146 are serially #'ed to 50, with #1-110 being the veterans and #111-146 being the rookies; card #147 was not produced or was intentionally left blank to separate the regular rookies from the autograph rookies; and card #148-157 are autographed and serially #'ed to only 5, leaving only 50 in total population (10 players, 5 of each). I own a total of 23 of the 50 autographs /5, leaving only one other set possible. This set is truly a labor of love, accentuating the irrationality of set completion. I never thought I would complete this set, and that is the way I wanted it - a long journey where the conclusion is uncertain. I thought it would take 100 years to finish this set - I ended up doing it in less than 10. I guess pursuing its completion appealed to my meticulous side. I guess hope *is* a good thing. A small step for mankind, but a giant step for me. (all in dedication to one of my favorite movies). |
